U.S. Federal Government contracts represent a tremendous sales opportunity for small businesses as the government is the world's largest customer, awarding billions of dollars of contracts for products and services annually. Additionally, the Federal government has specified annual prime contracting goals for designated small businesses. The current, government-wide procurement goal stipulates that at least 5% of all federal government contracting dollars should be awarded to women-owned small businesses.
